Swim Races at PointScore

  • Helps you improve your own personal time

  • Swimmers are placed in races according to their times (which is referred to as their seed time)

  • You swim with others who swim similar times as yourself, so they may not be the same age as you

  • Swim 12m, 25m, 50m, 100m, 200m or more

What’s the Reward?

Points are accumulated throughout the season based on the Dapto Swimming Club computer system.

Awards are presented for the Summer season PointScore, to those swimmers who have achieved the highest number of accumulated points.

Swimmers are awarded for finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Summer season Point Score for each of the respective age groups

During the Point Score season a number of special swim competitions also take place such as the Ernie Furbank Trophy and these are awarded at the end of the Summer season too.

VOLUNTEERS

Dapto Swimming Club is run by volunteers and PointScore needs a minimum of 22 volunteers to make it run. We appreciate you and your help during the season. Whether it is every fortnight or every week, we value your time.

Timekeepers

We have 9 lanes and so need 9 timekeepers

  • (It would be fabulous to have 2 timekeepers per lane)

  • Great place to learn how to do timekeeping

BBQ

This requires 3 people per week on a roster

If everyone helps, families only need to help with BBQ maximum of 3 times during the season

Ropes

This responsibility requires 2 people, one on each side of pool, to move the finish rope for 12.5m and 25m races.

SWIMMING AUSTRALIA

At Swimming Australia, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim, and to do so in a fun, safe and friendly environment.

An enjoyable learning experience could be the start of a life-long love of swimming, whether that’s competitive or as part of an active and healthy lifestyle.
